SPHERE 3.0 Sachs 48 Hydraulic Cartridge for Beta 2020-2024 Dal Soggio

The Dal Soggio 1P.SPH.SACHS3483.0 SPHERE 3.0 is a complete sealed and pressurized hydraulic cartridge system developed for Sachs 48 front forks fitted to compatible Beta Enduro motorcycles from 2020 to 2024.

This version is specifically intended for non-Racing Beta models equipped with the corresponding Sachs 48 fork platform.

SPHERE 3.0 represents the latest evolution of Dal Soggio’s hydraulic cartridge concept, developed through dyno testing and on-track development to improve precision, sensitivity, damping control, and rider feedback.

One of the main updates is the redesigned bladder, which Dal Soggio describes as thinner and stronger than the previous version. This change is intended to increase cartridge sensitivity and improve precision during hydraulic bleeding.

The compression system has also been revised. The compression base valve now separates High-Speed Compression and Low-Speed Compression settings, allowing the two damping ranges to be adjusted independently.

The compression piston has increased in diameter from 28 mm to 36 mm, a change developed to improve the linearity of the front suspension.

SPHERE 3.0 also introduces Dal Soggio’s Direct Flow Technology. Instead of routing oil through Z-shaped passages, the piston takes oil directly, reducing hydraulic stress within the cartridge and creating a more direct flow path.

The system is supplied and developed around Dal Soggio CUBE Fork Oil 5W.

SPHERE 3.0 Bladder System

The updated SPHERE 3.0 bladder is thinner and stronger than the previous design.

Dal Soggio developed this change to increase sensitivity within the cartridge and improve the accuracy of the bleeding process.

The bladder forms part of the cartridge’s internal pressure-management system and allows the sealed hydraulic circuit to compensate for changes in oil volume during fork movement.

Separate High- and Low-Speed Compression

The new SPHERE 3.0 compression base valve provides independent control of:

• High-Speed Compression
• Low-Speed Compression

These terms refer to suspension movement speed rather than motorcycle speed.

The two circuits can therefore be adjusted independently to tune fork response for different types of impacts, braking loads, terrain, and rider preference.

36 mm Compression Piston

SPHERE 3.0 increases the compression piston diameter from the previous 28 mm to 36 mm.

Dal Soggio states that this larger piston significantly improves the linearity of the complete front-fork response.

The larger working area also forms part of the new hydraulic architecture developed for SPHERE 3.0.

Direct Flow Technology

The SPHERE 3.0 cartridge uses Dal Soggio’s Direct Flow Technology.

With this design, oil reaches the piston directly instead of travelling through Z-shaped passages.

The aim is to:

• simplify the hydraulic flow path;
• reduce stress inside the cartridge;
• provide a more direct response;
• improve consistency of damping behavior.

Quick Install – 2023-2024 Sachs Forks

Dal Soggio specifies a Quick Install system for SPHERE 3.0 applications on Sachs 2023-2024 front forks.

With this system, installation no longer requires removal of the inner tube from the axle lug.

This Quick Install feature applies to the relevant 2023-2024 Sachs configuration and should not automatically be assumed for the earlier 2020-2022 forks covered by the same SPHERE application range.

SPHERE cartridges use Dal Soggio CUBE Fork Oil 5W.

Dal Soggio developed the SPHERE system around this suspension fluid, making correct oil selection an important part of hydraulic performance and consistency.

Installation Note

SPHERE 3.0 is a complete high-performance cartridge system and requires correct installation, bleeding, adjustment, and final suspension setup.

Dal Soggio recommends installation through a qualified suspension technician or specialized suspension center, even on versions equipped with the Quick Install system.
